Taster Kitchens are a collection of food brands - available for delivery through Deliveroo and Uber Eats across London, Paris, Dubai and Madrid. They house 7 kitchens, all inspired by a different cuisine - ranging from Hawaiian Poke to Thai street food, to Japanese sando sandwiches. Each operate as a separate brand of their own and each with their own visual branding.
Taster approached OK COOL (Creative Agency I was working with at the time) to find a way to translate it’s playful spirit to their social media channels - most notably Instagram. This included finding a way to merge all 7 brand guidelines of each Kitchen as well as Taster’s main visual identity. I worked within OK COOL to find a way to make this work; in the end deciding to focus each row of Taster’s IG feed on one of the kitchens - shifting focus to a new kitchen on each row and switching up the creative branding. Taster’s brief was to go as wild as possible so our aim was to use this sequencing to then spill into other rows. We had chopsticks lying across a number of tiles, design elements from one kitchen falling into another. The result is a dizzying scrap book of food imagery, cultural references and loud colour. Taster also launched a short podcast series, interview food critics, influencers and chefs. The project was called Eating In with Taster. We were approached to produce the logo and branding for this venture, opting for a fun visual play on the name. This was then animated for promoting on social and thumbnails produced for podcast and streaming apps.
